The Congress of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses – WBFSH, the International Federation of sport breeds that celebrated its thirty years of existence, took place from October 12th to 15th, in Cascais. 118 representatives from different Genealogical Books from all over the world were present, and Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Patron of the WBFSH, was also present.
APSL together with APCRS were the entities responsible for this organization, highly praised by all participants.
Of this initiative, we highlight the holding of the WBFSH General Assembly and the Seminars with very timely themes throughout the global equestrian context.
The Program also included some visits to places of great national interest, namely the Coach Museum where participants were able to see the world's largest collection of horse carriages, the visit to the old Royal riding arena, both highly appreciated by everyone present and also the stables of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art - EPAE and the Henrique Callado riding arena where there was a presentation by EPAE, and horses of the Lusitano, Luso Warmblood and Portuguese Sports Breeds in Dressage, Show Jumping and CCE.
Was also made presentations of the genealogical books of the Breeds mentioned above and Traditional Portuguese Riding. During the Gala dinner, held at the Queluz Palace, it was possible to visit the Equestrian Art Library and on the last day of the Congress, a visit to the National Palace of Sintra was promoted.
The organization was highly praised, and the President of WBFSH mentioned that it was perhaps the best Congress held so far, in its thirty years of existence.
A word of thanks to Parques de Sintra – Monte da Lua for supporting the Gala Dinner at the National Palace of Queluz, the visit to Sintra and the presentations at EPAE, to Cascais City Council for all the facilities granted for holding a dinner at the magnificent Cascais Citadel Palace, the Coach Museum and Golden Eagle, important partners in this initiative.
The organization of this event was, without a doubt, a great challenge to which we dedicated ourselves with great commitment and which could not have been carried out successfully without the involvement and collaboration of everyone, particularly the partners mentioned above.
To everyone, thank you very much!
